Statuses#
| Status | Chinese label | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Want to play | 想玩 | The default for new works. |
| Playing | 在玩 | You are reading it now. |
| Played | 已玩 | You have played it (finished or not). |
| On hold | 搁置 | Paused for now. |
| Dropped | 弃坑 | You stopped for good. |
Grey catalogue cards (works you track but don't own) may have no status. On hold is a local status: it is not sent to the galbd QQ plugin.
Completion flags#
Finished (已通关), All endings (全结局) and Full CG are stored separately from the status. Ticking Finished or All endings sets the status to Played; choosing a different status clears both flags.
Scores and dango faces#
Scores run from 0 to 10. The desktop app accepts steps of 0.1; the website editor uses steps of 0.5. The dango next to a score changes face with the score:
| Score | Face |
|---|---|
| 0 – below 2.5 | Serious (E05) |
| 2.5 – below 5 | Sleepy (E03) |
| 5 – below 8.5 | Calm, eyes opening wider as the score rises (E01) |
| 8.5 – 10 | Blushing (E02) |
Each whole number has its own title, from 粪作 at 0 to 神作 at 10. The dango animation stops when you close the details, when the page is hidden, or when your system asks for reduced motion.
Not rated is not zero#
An empty score means not rated: no score, no dango face and no title are shown ("尚未评分", not rated yet). A score of 0 is a real rating that you chose. GalShelf keeps the two apart when importing, syncing and editing; clearing the score field makes a work unrated again rather than scoring it 0.
Story progress#
Story progress is a percentage from 0 to 100 that you enter; empty means "not recorded". An automatic estimate (recorded play time divided by the expected length, capped at 99%) exists but is off by default and must be enabled per work. Steam's total playtime never turns into story progress.
Play time#
- GalShelf can time up to 4 works at once.
- Counting mode: foreground (default; only counts while the game window is in front) or process (counts while the game is running).
- Automatic detection:
automatic(default),launcher(only games started from GalShelf) oroff, with an on/off switch per work. A detected game must run for 5 seconds before a session starts, and a 12-second gap ends it. A game started from GalShelf is given up to 30 seconds to appear. - For Steam works the displayed total is Steam's own playtime. Local sessions are stored separately and never added to it, and Steam games are not detected automatically.
