The nine settings sections, search and deep links, which settings stay on this computer and which follow your account, where the former classic settings moved, language, reset and help.

From 0.2.6 on, the desktop app uses only the new interface: every setting is offered directly on the Settings page, and nothing sends you to the old settings page any more. Versions up to 0.2.5 opened the classic interface, whose settings were one long page; all of those settings are now in the sections below, and the values you saved carry over unchanged.

Search and deep links#
- The search box finds settings by Chinese or English keywords; Enter jumps to the first result. Searching never changes anything, and every result is a setting in the new interface.
- Every setting has a stable address of the form
#/settings/<section>?focus=<setting>, so help links, the command palette and a work’s Tools page can open it directly.
This computer or your account#
Each setting shows where it is stored:

File paths, launch settings and keys are always device-only and are never synchronised. API keys, tokens and passwords go only to the service they belong to and are never shown again after saving.
Where the classic settings moved#
Every item of the old settings page has a place in the new one and uses the same data, so nothing needs to be set up again after upgrading:

A few options that only changed how the classic interface looked are no longer shown: stacking a company row at its end, compact FD / series stacks, the space title in the top-left corner, interface copy styles and custom copy, background text contrast, and the classic interface’s background picture and its strength. Their values stay in your data and are not deleted; adjust the new interface under Appearance & Profiles. Library sync already covers “upload this computer’s library to the account”, so that button is not offered separately any more.
Language#

- Desktop app: Language & Accessibility → 界面语言 / Interface language, 简体中文 or English. It is stored on this device, starts in Chinese (it doesn’t follow the Windows language) and can also be changed inside the welcome tour. Work titles, character names and your own notes are never translated.
- Website: use the 中 / EN switch in the header. The choice is stored in the
galshelf_langcookie for the whole site; without a choice the site follows your browser language and falls back to Chinese.
Reset#
- 恢复本组默认值 / Reset this section appears when a section has changed simple settings (switches, choices, sliders) and resets only those; a Reset link on a row does the same for one setting. It doesn’t touch the theme, profile, background or language.
- Separate resets: Reset background, Forget remembered group states, and Advanced & Diagnostics → Reset interface preferences on this device, which returns every device setting to its default.
- No reset deletes your library, play history or files.
Help and documentation#
Cloud Saves uses one disclosed activation in Accounts & Sync. Existing and future eligible works inherit it; a per-work explicit opt-out remains off. Online fingerprint lookup, contribution and private website status are independent choices, with existing privacy choices preserved. Capacity limits are visible and adjustable engineering defaults, not atomic cross-device provider quotas. See Cloud saves and Privacy.
