Grouping options#

  • Desktop appAvailable in 0.2.8
  • WebsiteNot applicable

The classic interface (0.2.5) can group the shelf by company, including brand families from GalShelf's brand-relation data, or by collection (the first tag of each work); the two are mutually exclusive. Fan discs and sequels can be stacked with their main work, Steam series can be grouped, and a company's overflow can be folded into a single stack card.

The new interface offers 不分组 / No grouping, 按会社 / By company, 按收藏夹 / By collection and 按 Steam 系列 / By Steam series. In collection mode a work appears under every one of its tags (system tags excluded), not only the first.

The three group states#

  • Desktop appAvailable in 0.2.8
  • WebsiteNot applicable

Every group (a company, a brand, a collection or a series) is in one of three states:

StateChinese labelEnglish labelWhat you see
Collapsed完全收起CollapsedOnly the group header and its summary; no row of works.
One row折叠为一行One rowAs many works as fit in one row, then a +N tile ("N more"). Choosing the tile ("Show all N works of …") expands the group. In list view the row shows 4 items.
Expanded全部展开ExpandedAll works in the group. Long groups are rendered on demand, so large shelves stay fast.

The one-row preview adapts to the window: a narrow window shows fewer covers, a wide one more, and the tile always says how many are hidden. A brand family whose brands are in different states shows 部分展开 / Partly expanded. The states exist in both the new and the classic interface.

Clicking a group title#

  • A collapsed group opens to your default state. If the default is Collapsed, it opens to One row when its works don't fit in one row, otherwise to Expanded.
  • An open group collapses.

Child brands open on their own#

When a brand family is collapsed, opening a child brand opens only that brand's section. Its siblings stay collapsed and you don't have to open the parent first; a second child brand opens independently as well. In the classic interface, brand links now only scroll to the brand instead of opening the whole family.

Brand families and the family control#

  • A family is shown when it has at least two member brands, or includes a former brand (历史品牌 / Former brand). Its header shows the number of brands and works.
  • The family's state control is a bulk action: it sets every brand below at once and clears each brand's own choice. It doesn't lock them: when you change one brand afterwards, that choice is kept and the family shows Partly expanded.

Keyboard and accessibility#

  • The group title is a button: reach it with Tab, open or collapse it with Enter or Space.
  • The state switch is a radio group: Tab reaches the selected state, and the arrow keys move to another state and apply it immediately.
  • Controls inside a group never toggle the parent group, and every state has an accessible name (Collapsed, One row, Expanded, Partly expanded).

What is remembered#

  • Each group's state is stored under a stable group ID, so it survives re-rendering, filtering, window resizing, switching the interface profile and restarting. Up to 5,000 groups are remembered, and both interfaces share them.
  • The state for groups you haven't touched is the default group state, One row unless you change it in Settings → Library & Import → 分组默认展开方式 / Default group state (library.group_default, follows your account). The individual states (library.group_states) are kept on this device.
  • Settings → Library & Import → 清除各分组记住的状态 / Forget remembered group states returns every group to the default.
